Central government has established tighter regulatory frameworks to control medical education and practice at all levels. This book provides critical thinking concerning the educational basis for these frameworks. It extends to medical education the concepts presented thirty years ago by Lawrence Stenhouse, and presents an alternative model – a curriculum for practice – in a way that provides a language for all those concerned with medical education to debate the issues in a more enlightened way.
