Many fruits and vegetables can be used for the acidic electrolyte. They provide both the electrolyte and a simple way to support the electrodes. Zinc and Copper electrodes are reasonably safe and easy to obtain. The experiments conducting with this kit is to create a battery out of a fruits/vegetables using carbon as the constant element and switching out conductive metals zinc, and copper electrodes as the second element.
