Wofai Arikpo's love is severely tested when she finds that her genotype is AS - like that of Charles Omini, her fiancé. Unable to see a future without each other, the love birds defy parents, friends, and doctors and get married. Their decision sets off a chain of events that consumes their two sufferer sons and Wofai herself. In the ensuing grief, anger and recriminations, Charles and Dodeye, his lately estranged daughter, must learn to forgive each other and to think beyond themselves if they are to rise above their pain and find the happiness that has eluded them for so long.
