Two Fulton County, New York youths robbed and killed a Montgomery County gas station owner on the night of July 25, 1936. My e-book researched the lives of Volkert and Harold Loveless, two aimless youths who killed a man for $29. The cold bloodedness of their deed was evident when Volkert took money for a can of oil from a customer while the dead station manager lay on the ground near him. The Loveless brothers were the sons of a carpenter and a glove maker. One of the youths was working in a Civilian Conservation Corps camp at the time police learned of his whereabouts.
