This book addresses a number of important questions about religion. Why are humans so religious, spiritual and faith-possessed that religions and the worship of God evolve in every human society and every civilization? Is this what differentiates us from other animals? Where do these religious thoughts come from?

Primitive religions, religion and leadership, and the historical transitions from mythology to formal religions are discussed. Then the religious cults, the scourge of religions, the rationale of ancient beliefs, the unique human spirituality, the great debate about nature and God, the inter-faith tolerance and the human enigma are considered and explored.

The book examines the seemingly insoluble puzzle about creationism. It was pointed out that no one seems to be able to answer the truly philosophical and perhaps rhetorical question of "can something come from nothing?" If the answer is yes, then the universe can come from nothing. On the other hand, if the answer is no, then how does everything begin? This is the perpetual circular question of creationism, religion and exceptionalism.

However these questions are answered, humankind needs to wake up eventually to the reality that it is the species that is the real custodian of Earth and all the living and non-living things on it. Humankind needs to accept this heavy responsibility to take good care of this one and only Earth.
