S.S. Egypt, was a steamer liner owned by Peninsular & Orient. Around dinnertime on May 20, 1922 she was run into by the French ship Seine. Egypt sank off the coast of Brittany, with 1,089 bars of gold, 1,229 bars of silver and $830,000 in gold coins on board. The collision of ships occurred near Cape Finisterre, Spain. Egypt sank to the bottom near the French island Ushant. It is located in the southwestern end of the English channel.
