Samuel Carbone was an East Rutherford, New Jersey mobster with close ties to Bonanno family lynchpin "Bayonne Joe" Joseph Zicarelli. Zicarelli was a rackets boss in New Jersey with numerous underlings like Frank Mallamaci. Mallamaci and Zicarelli had real connections to New Jersey Congressman Cornelius Gallagher. At one point Gallagher invited Zicarelli to the White House when John Kennedy was President of the United States. Scheduled to appear before a grand jury in September 1971, Carbone and his wife had been charged with loansharking.
