Two ships collided in the Atlantic Ocean around 2 a.m. on the morning of November 26, 1964. One was the Norwegian tanker Stolt Dagali and the other was an ocean liner, the Israeli ship S.S. Shalom. Conflicting accounts of what actually happened were circulated. Both sides told it uniquely and descriptively. Nineteen crew members of Stolt Dagali were killed when the ship's stern section sank almost immediately. My e-book considers the accident, the S.O.S. log, and lawsuits that came after the tragedy.
