Princess Henny and the Wonky Eggs is a light-hearted story told in rhyme. It is brightly illustrated in a cartoon style, and will appeal to children in the 2-8+ age range. It celebrates farm life, farm shops, wonky eggs, wonky vegetables and all things that don't look perfect on the outside but are great on the inside! It was inspired by the hens, animals and farm shop in Berkshire (UK) where the author used to buy eggs for her family.

The Plot: Princess Henrietta was a happy hen who loved her life on a free-range egg farm in the Devon countryside. One day, she was distressed to find that she had laid a wonky egg instead of her usual perfect one. In typical drama queen-style, she over-reacts and fears the worst. With help from her friends on the farm, Princess Henny discovers that farm shop customers love buying and eating wonky eggs – in fact, they are best-sellers! And why not? Wonky eggs taste just as good as perfect ones (and cost less)!
Young children will enjoy the simple storyline of this amusing and uplifting tale. Older children may also understand that the book indirectly gives a nod to the old adage, 'don't judge a book by its cover'. It also sends a gentle message that we don't have to expect everything to look or be perfect all the time - it's fine if things are wonky sometimes!
