피르케이 아보트
"선조의 장Chapters of the Fathers"인 피르케이 아보트는 모세가 랍비들에게 전수한 윤리적 가르침과 격언을 모은 책이다. 책에 담긴 의미를 반영하여 "선조의 윤리학Ethics of the Fathers"으로 옮기기도 한다. 미쉬나 4부(너지킨) 중 아홉 번째 책인데 마지막 6장은 나중에 추가되었다. 아보트는 윤리|도덕에 입각한 원칙은 기록되어 있으나 율법(할라하)은 거의 보이지 않는다.
