Brought up in Tanzania and Surrey, Trisha's early career as an air stewardess led to travel writing for magazines and then, when she settled in Australia in the mid 1980s, a new career in television.
Soon she was a presenter and roving reporter for the prestigious 7:30 Report which led to her presenting the prime-time show, Everybody. She then started her own production company before moving to England in 1998 to host her own talk show, Trisha.
Apart from her family - husband Peter and daughters Billie and Madison - her two great loves are communication through the medium of her shows and campaigning for a greater understanding of mental health problems. A trained counsellor in conflict resolution, she is vocal about her own mental health problems and actively campaigns for better understanding and de-stigmatisation of mental health issues.
Sadly her personal life has not always been as successful as her professional career - Trisha suffered at the hands of a violent father, was abused in her early teens; she then turned to drugs. Struggling with depression and mental health issues, Trisha was married twice before she found happiness with her Australian husband. Her first husband died of AIDS - Trisha was unaware of his condition. Her second marriage, to the father of her two children, fell apart after he had an affair with a colleague of Trisha's.
