Gregory Cruz was store clerk who became a victim of mistaken identity. It cost him big, as he lost the use of his right arm and missed a year of work. On the evening of September 9, 1964 Cruz was nearing the Alfred E. Smith Housing Project where he was to meet his girlfriend. New York Police Detective Devlin stopped him after noticing his resemblance to a suspect the police had been looking for in Chinatown. My e-book profiles the encounter between Cruz and a number of New York Police detective officers.
