Idolatry is something we must not take lightly. As I study the bible, I note with interest that the judgement of God came upon His people because of idolatry. Idolatry is not only worshipping physical things such as a wooden statue, the moon, the stars or animals, it is whatever is lord over your life. If Jesus is not Lord over your life, then your heart is given over to Idolatry.
