So perhaps you are wondering about the title of this book – it suggests that this poetry book is going to contain fantastic poetry. Well, this book is broken into three distinct sections and the first section of this book is dedicated to a weekly event that takes place on WordPress – The Terrible Poetry Contest.

Some might be surprised to learn that writing terrible poetry is quite difficult. So I thought let's start with the bad and then I'll let you be the judge of whether things improves. For those interested I have marked the poems that won with a subtle notice. I hope you enjoy.

The second section of this book is contemporary poetry and I often find that I write contemporary poetry when I least expect it and about the most bizarre topics.
While I hope that you find these not the least bit terrible, if you do then have a chuckle. They were written to entertain.

Lastly the final section is based on Japanese poetry forms and though I am by no means an expert on writing Japanese poetry, I think over time my efforts improved, though I suspect my subject matter was on occasion inappropriate.

Please feel free to leave comments and I hope you enjoy.
