영국 의적 로빈 후드의 정의로운 모험담!미국 작가 하워드 파일은 19세기 말엽에 그동안 민요나 민담으로 전해 내려오던 로빈 후드의 이야기를 수집하여 《로빈 후드의 모험》이라는 소설로 재구성하였다. 이 작품의 제목을 좀 더 정확히 말하면, '노팅엄의 로빈 후드의 유쾌한 모험'이다. 이 작품은 뒷날 로빈 후드를 다루는 영화나 텔레비전 드라마, 만화 등의 모체가 되었다.
