CAT-A-TONIC is the story of a teenager's search for safety and a young widow's search for a new life. The story is set in Oakwood, a fictional town adjoining Portland, Oregon
In CAT-A-TONIC, Catherine Adele Tierney (call me "Cat") tracks a missing 15-year-old, Sandy Strom. Sandy "went poof" at some point after leaving the local skating rink. There are no visual clues and police dogs couldn't trace Sandy by scent.
As Cat looks for Sandy she meets Sandy's anxious father, self-serving mother and angry brother. She learns that Sandy is quiet, smart and resourceful, and may have planned her own disappearance.
While Cat hunts for the girl, there are three questions that propel her. Was Sandy in danger in her own home? Is Sandy still alive? And, is she, Cat, capable of finding her?
Cat's stubborn and determined, but she's also a newbie detective and this is her first important case.
