Joe Talbot and his best friends team up to challenge their classmate Amanda Hollings and her side in a Sequoyah Middle School spelling bee. This reminds Wishbone of the classic adventure tale Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott. Ivanhoe is set in England during the late twelfth century. It was a time when people's fates were determined in sometimes violent tournaments and Robin Hood and his band of merry men ruled the forest. As the brave knight Ivanhoe, Wishbone must hide his true identity as he battles difficult odds to defeat an evil nobleman and reclaim his birthright.
