This monograph addresses some frequently overlooked but extremely important aspects of the Malaysian food security. These include but not limited to the role and importance of fish in ensuring food and nutrition security for all; improving aquaculture and fisheries contribution to food security in the short and long term despite the challenges facing the sector (e.g. sustainability, governance constraints, economic constraints and demographic conditions). Hence, providing insights on what needs to be improved in the sector (especially fish fry production and breeding technology) to achieve sustainable aquaculture production in order to strengthen national food security. This monograph is to help Malaysian to understand the wide spectrum of issues that make aquaculture such an important part of efforts to ensure food security for all.
