Johnny Set Go introduces us to the character of Johnny. Born cocooned in a beautiful estuarine bay he chrysalises on the streets of a night time city.

His strong mother, discontent with their prolonged hiding flees back to the city and a lifestyle that still owes her. Johnnies father collapses, eventually dragging himself back together with the assistance of his outsider friends.

When Johnny comes of age he and his girlfriend follow his mother, immediately the city brutalises them. Defending his mother, Johnny is lost, his mother looks to the outsiders for help. Johnny re-emerges hell bent on revenge, the police struggle to keep up, old scores are settled and new ones created

After the storm, life around Bay settles leaving Johnny to contemplate his future
