The story of Yvashka is a popular tale in Russia that features the mythological demon Baba Yaga. In this tale, Baba Yaga is depicted as a huge female who travels around the steppes in a mortar, which she propels by pounding it with a pestle. She is also said to have a tongue that is at least three yards long, which she uses to draw a mark on the dust and capture any living thing that comes within her reach. She then devours her prey to satisfy her insatiable hunger. While the story focuses on Yvashka and his companion Moustacho, it is Baba Yaga's presence that adds an element of intrigue and fear to the tale.
