Der Roman Das Erbe von Björndal des norwegischen Schriftstellers Trygve Gulbranssen (* 15. Juni 1894 in Kristiania; † 10. Oktober 1962 in Eidsberg) erschien erstmals im Jahr 1934 und gilt - wie auch sein Vorgänger Und ewig singen die Wälder - als einer der großen Klassiker des Heimatromans.
1960 wurde der Roman unter der Regie von Gustav Ucicky überaus erfolgreich (und recht frei) verfilmt. In den Hauptrollen: Joachim Hansen (als Dag), Maj-Britt Nilsson (als Adelheid Barre), Brigitte Horney (als Tante Eleonore), Hans Nielsen (Oberst a. D. Barre), Ellen Schwiers (als Gunvor) und Carl Lange als (Oberst a. D. von Gall).
Der Apex-Verlag veröffentlicht eine durchgesehene Neuausgabe der Björndal-Trilogie.
