Communication is incredibly important in today's technological world, and much of this communication happens through a very complex web of networks throughout the world. Getting information from point A to point B is what we, as networking professionals, must understand. It is important to have the knowledge of the process of routing and the types of routing protocols we need to use.

I will start the course by showing you how to configure a Cisco router using the Packet Tracer demonstration environment to do so. Then we will take a look at RIP, which is a distance vector routing protocol used for small networks. After that, I will show you how to work with EIGRP, an advanced distance vector routing protocol, which is limited to Cisco routers only. Finally, we will dive into the biggest protocol of all, which is OSPF, and take a look at its complexities made easy.

Routing makes the Internet possible, and I am looking forward to showing you how to get it just right. Let us get started. We will take you through advanced topics and techniques in Cisco routing, from configuring RIPv2 routes for smaller networks, to EIGRP, advanced distance routing, and OSPF, a more complex protocol that brings many more features and greater flexibility to your network. You will be able to practice configuring all of these protocols using the Packet Tracer demo environment and Lazaro's detailed tutorials.

Topics include:

- Configuring static and default routes

- Understanding dynamic routing

- Issuing verification commands

- Comparing RIPng and RIPv2Using RIP timers

- Configuring an EIGRP feasible successor route

- Exploring EIGRP options

- Introducing the OSPF process ID

- Exploring wildcard masking
