Setting achievable goals is one of the first steps toward a successful career and meaningful personal development. In this business skills course for BefittingLife.com, author Dave Crenshaw shows smart ways to create a vision, develop a quantifiable goal, turn that goal into actions, and share that commitment publicly to establish accountability.

Along the way, discover the importance of celebrating successes and reviewing your progress to stay motivated and establish a pattern of successful goal setting.

Topics include:

  • Creating a vision
  • Dividing to conquer
  • Processing into action
  • Establishing accountability
  • Tracking progress

All the systems for achieving goals include creating lists of small, measurable, attainable tasks toward your larger dreams. Most people over the age of, say, twenty-five, have a drawer full of these lists with a few things crossed out and a whole lot left that were abandoned. You keep envisioning your goals, making your lists, and wondering why you haven't yet manifested your dreams.

And for a lot of people goal achievement really is difficult. They struggle and they strain and they work their butts off and they don't seem to move even one inch forward in their lives. For these people, which is a whole lot of people out there, accomplishing anything feel impossible. But people don't struggle with goal achievement because it actually, objectively has to be difficult. They struggle with goal achievement because they pursue their goals with the wrong strategies, with the wrong methods.
