The book, Optimism Unveiled, begins with an ode paying tribute to President Abdul Kalam whose dream was to see India shining in every field. 'Hima' is a poem to honour the achievements of the great athlete, Hima Das, whose life is a source of inspiration for all. The book has poems of varied tastes. The poems 'Paradise' and 'Blend' are experimental in a sense, as photographs of the talented photographer Sudip Bhattacharya are used to pen down romantic verses and poetry of peace. 'I have a dream,' based on the painting of a promising painter, Sejuti Biswas, is steeped in romantic bliss. 'She' is a poetic tale based on a real-life experience. 'Four Feathers' symbolises trauma of four women whose ultimate freedom lies in sharing and caring. 'Mother' portrays a woman's helplessness followed by her fearless step to protect her girl child. The book ends with the message of freedom in 'Bihanga' (The Bird) based on dancer Alokananda Roy's venture of initiating cultural therapy amongst prisoners by teaching them the art of dance.
