A fictional story inspired in part by actual eventsThe central character is a Rangers' fan in Glasgow's East End and the story follows his life for a period of around 25 years from about 1980 onwards.It also includes flashbacks to altercations with his childhood nemesis and how their mutual dislike of one another became a hatred as they grew into adulthood, fuelled by a background of religious bigotry. The story also includes violence, drug dealing, illegal money lending and humour.
