This biography of Casanova runs into three volumes and describes his entire life starting in Venice in 1725 until his death in Bohemia (now the Czeck Republic) in 1798. His name is now synonymous with the word 'womanizer' on account of his many very public affairs. These volumes are considered to be the most accurate and detailed documentaries of the social life of eighteenth-century European life.
