Abby is an average high school senior and is looking forward to going off to college in a few months to study art. But when she crashes her car into a river, killing her girlfriend, she experiences a startling change. Her near-death experience causes what she at first believes are PTSD-induced hallucinations of her dead girlfriend, tormenting her already guilt-ridden mind. Soon, though, she realizes that she is not going insane, and is really seeing the dead walking.

But something is wrong. The dead are becoming violent, and more and more people are dying in supposed accidents. Desperate to save her girlfriend's soul - and with the help of a psychic, and new friend Jonas - Abby has to figure out who or what is killing people - before it's too late.
