Ravensbruck, a Nazi concentration camp exclusively for women, was located some 80 kilometers from Berlin. My e-book looks at first person accounts of prisoners who were inmates at the torturous death camp. Of some 18,000,000 persons confined to German run concentration camps, only 3,000,000 survived their tragic ordeal. Among the most noteworthy persons who spent time at Ravensbruck was Gemma LaGuardia, the sister of New York mayor Fiorello LaGuardia. The Nazis referred to Ravensbruck as "the women's hell". Among the most detailed accounts of prisoner life is one provided by Polish captive Anna Nieznana.
