Shelby Adams has a problem with anger.

When high school Senior and notorious mean girl Shelby Adams meets her town's newest obsession, Arthur Davenport, the handsome hockey player for the Westmoreland Flames, she meets her match. He's a man of many nicknames and Shelby is thrilled, infuriated, concerned, and intimidated as she discovers just how he's come to earn them all. Having never before been challenged, Shelby quickly learns that being comfortable is highly overrated. With an attraction this powerful, and personalities this dynamic, for the first time in either of their lives, they're both terrified.

Aggressive Arthur can put Shelby in her place better than anyone, ever before. She'd lose herself in him if it weren't for his womanizing reputation and the fact that Arthur's only around for the hockey. He's going back to his hometown of Alaska as soon as the season ends. Shelby must decide to trust him, which is made difficult by her sorrowful past and the girl that's determined to steal him away. Arthur wants to break through to Shelby, help her with her anger, and keep her for himself, but he knows their time together will eventually come to an end.

Pissed off, sexually charged, and determined to win, the two begin a game with opposing desired outcomes. Soon they learn, however, that their interests are more aligned than either considered. Fate intervenes to teach Westmoreland's angriest, coldest, and toughest people that love might just have a place for them also.
