...She looked great, dressed up for a date. That part was a little awkward. The other woman didn't seem her type at all, a basketball player, tall, toothy, checking to see who was looking at her half the time. I thought they left, but when I stopped at the bar for a drink I almost stepped on Cara's manicured red toes in some very cute mules. Turning to apologize I found the light, bright blue eyes smiling at me. "Oh, sorry. Hey, you're Bianca's friend – "
"Yes," cheeks flush from her drink – which was also a surprise.
"Is that a Manhattan?"
"It is. My joke to myself." The bar was called 'New York Louie's'
"Huh."
Lowering her eyes, "you think it's silly."k
"No. Creative. Kinda cool you take the time to play like that."
"I spent a lot of time making other people happy, now – " blushing, "never mind, you don't want to hear about that."
"I kind of do," I surprise myself saying it, "but I have another set," pointing to the stage. ...
