In November 1962 the FBI arrested three Cubans who were suspected of plotting to blow up New Jersey oil refineries. One of the Cubans was an attache with the Cuban delegation at the United Nations. Immediately after the arrests were made the Communist Cuban government took action to the free the prisoners. The Castro regime claimed diplomatic immunity for the three arrested Cubans. FBI agents found a stache of bombs, guns and incendiary devices in the office of one of the arrested men. The suspenseful drama played out on the front pages of newspapers throughout the United States
