Read the bestselling genderbent trilogy. For fans of quests, swords, magic school, and awkward crushes.
When the Sword in the Stone falls in the middle of London and Merlin goes to high school to recruit the next King Arthur, everything changes for Ryan...
17 year-old Boston high schooler, Ryan DuLac just found out the guy she's been crushing on, hot biker Matt, is a little older than he was letting on. By a few eons... In fact, he is really Merlin—the Merlin, King Arthur's Merlin, the greatest wizard who ever lived. Frozen in a cave for over fifteen hundred years, he's woken for a purpose. But Ryan's not impressed. Tired of being a relationship loser, she'd rather kick his legendary behind.
Sure, the world has been crazy ever since the sword and the stone fell out of the sky like a meteor. But despite gruesome gargoyles, a deadly new world of magic, and the guy driving her crazy, Ryan knows that family is everything. Will Merlin sacrifice hers to save the world? Will she be able to stop him?

I often get asked the same question—Why call her RYAN?
I hope my answer will surprise you.
Firstly, genderbias is a real thing. We all know this. When I came up with the name Ryan, it was deliberate use for a girl stepping into the role of King Arthur. Throughout my childhood, I've been told 'NO.' You can't do that because it's too hard. You can't become a techie because girls don't do well in math. Well, I did. So can Ryan.
Secondly, the idea that a girl can be a sword-toting savior isn't new, but when I played with King Arthur's gender, I played with the idea—anyone can be a leader, a king. This glass ceiling is still something we all struggle to break through.
Thirdly, I love, love, love Shakespeare's Twelvth Night. In this play, Viola disguises herself as "Cesario." Viola falls in love with Duke Orsino, Duke Orsino loves Olivia, and Olivia loves Viola disguised as Cesario. When I named Ryan, Vane, and Matt, I created another love triangle and played with the idea who you love isn't based on gender.
So, there you have it. I hope you enjoy Ryan's journey!
~Excerpt My Boyfriend Merlin~
I got there too late.
Blood soaked the yellow walls of an otherwise cheerful kitchen. Through a lone window, soft moonlight illuminated a white towel with purple flowers, which hung beside drying dishes next to the sink. The kitchen was clean, except for the floor smeared with sticky red. Blood didn't bother me. It hadn't bothered since I made my first kill at the age of eleven.
I wiped my sword against my leg, not knowing why I bothered. Every sword I touched seemed to get dirty. However, this time, the sword wasn't mine. If only I was a few minutes sooner... I clamped down the thought. It never paid to look back.
For weeks, I'd watched her. She was stronger than she realized, surprisingly strong. But she wasn't the one I sought. Nothing special. Just a regular girl. Then why did you save her?
