Barbara Parkins is a sophisticated actress originally from British Columbia. In Hollywood she was unique because of her refusal to be typecast. She made her breakthrough as "Betty Anderson" in the hugely successful ABC-TV series "Peyton Place". However, she was unique from the beginning. In May 1967 she was featured in and out of clothes in a nude Playboy pictorial. Then after completing the "Valley of the Dolls" film version of Jacqueline Suzanne's bestselling novel, she left Hollywood altogether. She settled in London for a period of years and told reporters that she loved England and the English people.
