The Law of the Jungle rules.
When the only animals around are people, they must hunt each other for food, and when bodies are left unclaimed and unpaid, it falls to the Registered Investigators to find the killer so they can be made to pay the tax.
When a body is found within their territory, Marlot and Trembor look into it. When they find out that she had left a trail of broken hearts, and broken people in her wake they think they know where they will find the killer, but when each one can show they didn't kill her they must rethink the reason behind the killing, and maybe uncover something more horrible than a body left to waste away.
Will they find the killer and bring him to justice? And will Marlot be able to overcome his small town upbringing so he can decide how his relationship with his partner will progress.
