"Conversations With and About John Fahey" is divided into two parts. Part one is comprised of eight interviews that Bob Gersztyn had with John Fahey during the last four years of his life from 1997 to 2001. The interviews cover a variety of subjects over a two year period including music, religion, philosophy and whatever other subjects that Fahey wanted to talk about. Part two is made up of seven interviews that Gersztyn conducted with John Fahey's third wife Melody, musicians, friends and fans like Country Joe McDonald, Terry Robb, Tim Knight, Rob Scrivner and Stevan Allred. These interviews are reflections of the John Fahey that they knew from personal relationships with him revealing a complexity fitting for his enigmatic legend. Rolling Stone rated John Fahey as #35 on the list of the greatest guitarist's of the twentieth century. Also included are "30" inside photographs that Gersztyn took of John Fahey, his friends and his surroundings during the late 1990's.
