I was taught that my people and the forest lived in harmony, that the river was the source of life. There were dangers in the forest, but if I followed the rules of our tribe I would live to grow old. Unfortunately, the forest was a place of amazing wonders and magnificent climbing trees. I was never concerned about my safety because I could hide better than anyone in the forest. Maybe it was because Da had told me often that I had an adventurer's spirit, one that could not be tamed by rules. He had said the planet had assured him that I would live beyond our world, and the gift of the forest would ensure my survival.

I was young the day the Arrivals came to the forest that I loved dearly. My spirit was so full of excitement and curiosity about these people who lived beyond our world by the river, that I could not defy my desire to see who these Arrival's were. It was this day that the planet led me to him, and him to me. I was playing a game while he was hunting, but all that changed the moment we saw each other. He should have killed me by the river, and I should have feasted upon him after the Zurgala attacked. Instead, we kept each other safe, not knowing that this one incident would change everything.
