There are few wounds which cut deeper than a mother losing her infant son. Kristina's husband running off to hunt living corpses didn't help matters much either. No matter the day or the hour, her thoughts drift to the small grave tucked beneath the fledgling oak tree in the south field.

Then her husband returns home with a boy, who is stained with blood, and touched by mysterious forces. But will this child be a salve for her open wound, or drive the injury even deeper?
