Piano teacher/voice coach Charles William Yukl was the son of a Czech musician. In 1966 he was doubling as a building manager for a Manhattan brownstone. One of his pupils was Suzanne Reynolds, an aspiring singer/actress who came to New York City from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Reynolds was found murdered in October 1966. Her death was reported to authorities after he claimed to have seen her body inside a door to a first floor apartment that had been left slightly ajar. Some seventeen hours later NYPD detectives arrested Yukl for Reynolds' murder.
