George Milazzo's murder was one of four that occurred in quick succession in September and October 1952. Milazzo was a small-time drug dealer who had squealed to avoid prison time a year earlier. Milazzo's body was found in the Kew Gardens section of Queens by a woman who was on her way to work. Two days earlier Paul Caravello was taken for a ride before his body was dumped in a vacant lot in an isolated Pelham section of the Bronx. Both Milazzo and Caravello were caught up in the East Harlem narcotics trade. Caravello is most intriguing because of his close ties to Charles "Lucky" Luciano and a cigarette vending racket. Luciano was closely associated with the Genovese crime syndicate.
