All living things die and our only concern is realizing that we live in an Earth Petrie dish which now is increasingly becoming a frying pan. After the human species becomes extinct, Earth will likely look like some other nearby planet. In the meantime, what we have here is a geometrically expanding population, a geometric expanding environmental degradation, a declining food production, a comfort and life sustaining resources supporting fewer people, competition for resources, and wars. The extinction of the human species is a matter of time as environmental effects overcome population growth and take away real and frivolous peoples comforts. As few astronauts manage to inject and populate themselves into alien space environments, it is too early to predict if the human species can adapt to these new environments and survive to create a new species.
