He had just heated up his dinner and was about to sit to eat when the lights went out.
'It must be a power failure.' He thought to himself, as he recalled Ravi telling him that due to excessive load shedding they had to face a lot of trouble at the hospital.
He took out a couple of candles from the drawer and lighted them. He hadn't imagined of having a candle light dinner all by himself here in this bunglow, as he sat down to eat his dinner.
He had just made the bed and was about to get into it, when he heard the sound.
A faint knocking sound on his front door.
He strained his ears thinking if he had heard right.
Knock.... Knock.
There it went again. This time it was louder and clearer.
He went towards the hall and opened the door.
