The author presents inspirational true stories from her experience with families and family members dealing with end of life issues along with gives her reflections on what these stories teach all of us about how to live. The author has included paintings and other artwork she created as a gift to some of these families. The artwork illustrates the stories and also provides an additional sense of the reality of these situations. The book offers good information about how to talk with people who are dying, what kinds of experiences a person who is dying has and how care givers and loved ones can deal with them. Although not a clinical approach, the book informs health care workers at all levels about patient and family expectations and needs in coping with end of life situations. (Includes 83 images of original art by author Patricia M. Acker.)
