New Petrograd was a village on Canada's Pacific Northwest coast that was settled when its inhabitants fled the Russian Revolution of 1917. Meet Phil Filipov, the village's lighthouse keeper, who will introduce you to New Petrograd as he takes you around the village, sharing the warmth of his friends and their memories of the times in which they grew up.
Part of the story involves newcomers Marvin and June Palmer, who bought the old Pagodon house and retired from their busy lives in Vancouver—or so they say. Steve Philip and Mark Feodociv sailed in sometime later, but it wasn't long before they were immersed in the village's activities, with their own stories to add to the town's rich history.
Lighthouse in the Mist is not only a fictitious memoir. It's daily life on the edge of a continent. It's a charming romance. And it's something more.
