Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief by Jordan B. Peterson | Conversation Starters

Jordan Peterson urges his readers to wake up to a new way of existence and to look back to the past to do this. It is every individual's responsibility to follow the teaching of the old story of rescuing one's dead father from the world of the dead. Not doing this would result in chaos. Mythologies of ancient cultures of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Judea are studied and discussed and are compared and contrasted to the beliefs of Christianity. Other non-Western beliefs like Taoism are also explored. Peterson's thinking is highly influenced by Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud, Erich Neumann, Carl Rogers, and other related thinkers of the 20th century. Peterson hopes to awaken modern minds to religious realities that they have turned their back on.
Maps of Meaning is written by the same author of 12 Rules for Life, a top bestseller in the US, Canada, and the UK. He hosts The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast, which has guested well-known academic personalities.
