Read this contemporary romance novel by S. L. Giger and find out whether it's as moving as "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green.
Kevin is a popular high school boy who doesn't believe in love until he falls head over heels for Fiona. She believes she has found the guy of her dreams until he ends their relationship out of the blue. Can Kevin reverse the worst mistake of his life or will his dark secret catch up with him first?
"This heart-rending story will stay with you for a long time after putting the book down."
Interview with the author
Q: How did you get the ideas for this book?
A: This is the first book I've ever written. I started writing it when I was 17 when my host brother from my exchange year in the US was diagnosed with cancer. I've never been good at talking about emotional things and so I felt an inner need to write. Since then, I write all the time, about any topic that interests me.
Q: Sounds like a very personal story.
A: It is because the topic touches and moves me but I tried to really write a fictional story and just put my feelings into it. I pretty much rewrote the whole story in 2016 because my editor made such good suggestions and now I feel like there is enough distance in the story to my personal life.
Q: Are there more books by you, which your readers can enjoy?
A: I wrote another romance novel which isn't yet published and my paranormal fantasy romance "Heart of Power: The Siren's Awakening" was published in November 2016. It's the first in a trilogy and all books are published now. I am very excited about that.
Q: Who will like A Sketch of What You Mean To Me.
A: Well, it's a cancer romance with strong friendships and true love, therefore, I think people who like books by Nicholas Sparks, like A Walk to Remember or John Green's The Fault in Our Stars will love A Sketch of What You Mean to Me.
