Why does the best friend of a psychiatrist commit suicide? Dr. Joshua Zeev has a multitude of questions, and the only answer he finds is a cryptic bloodstained note left by his best friend, Richard Brown.

Joshua's world turns dark as he loses all confidence in his abilities and decision making. Richard's son, Harold, has been his patient since he was a child. Joshua has worked most of his professional life trying to help the young man deal with his fits of extreme rage. Unable to cure him of his condition, unable to stop his best friend's suicide, Joshua hopes finding the answers to Richard's note will save both him and the Brown family.
