Cry of a Cactus Wren is a novel of suspense, mystery, adventure, and romance set against the historical backdrop of territorial New Mexico, leaning on the paranormal as Hispanic Southwest and Native American legends do. Local desert dwellers call her la loca santa, the holy crazy one, who lives with a padre's ghost. Riding out of the broiling foothills, a gunman releases horrors that for the past seven years were locked in a chamber of oblivion in Dominica's mind. She intuitively knows he is linked to the secrets the mountain holds and has come to take her away. He does, into Apacheria, where both their unexpected destinies lie ahead of them.
