Gaetano "Anthony" Lisi ran a place in Manhattan that became a prominent hangout for Bonanno family associates. Lisi was involved in a series of break ins and robberies on New York's Lower East Side in the 1940s. During one of these intrusions ex-convict Anthony "Babe" Imperiale was murdered in a tenement building. Lisi and Angelo "Moe" Presenzano were indicted for this slaying. By the 1950s Lisi was part of the Cotroni/Montreal syndicate. The criminal outfit controlled shipments of narcotics from Canada to select clients in New York City.
