The People of the Crater (1947) is North's first published science fiction. The author summarizes the story as follows: "Send the Black Throne to dust; conquer the Black Ones, and bring the Daughter from the Caves of Darkness." These were the tasks Garin must perform to fulfill the prophecy of the Ancient Ones—and establish his own destiny in this hidden land! Artist Bio Author: Andrew North (1912-2005) was the pseudonym of an American writer, the first woman to be Gandalf Grand Master of Fantasy, SFWA Grand Master, and member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame.
