The field of criminology has increasingly embraced the incorporation of biological factors into our understanding of the etiology of antisocial, violent, and criminal. Once a taboo subject, the biopsychosocial perspective is quickly gaining momentum. In fact, the inclusion of biological factors with psychological and social risk factors has already helped to advance several existing models of deviance, and research consistently indicates that adding biological concepts into mainstream criminological theories increases the explanatory power of those theories and our understanding of the etiology of antisocial and criminal behaviour. The ebook presents chapters on various biopsychosocial predicators of violent offending.
